Lotus Connections : A set of database indexes to improve the performance for the HOMEPAGE database which hosts Homepage, Search and News and Email Digest data.

The HOMEPAGE database is used to serve data to different applications likes Homepage, Search and News plus Email Digest data. For performance reasons we recommend to run the attached sql scripts to improve the existing databases indexes. In some cases the script will drop and re-create better indexes, in other cases the script will add new indexes. The technote is shipped with three SQL files depending on the database vendor being used.

Lotus Domino 8.5.3 ships with Thread ID debug enabled by default.

Domino server now ships with debug_threadid enabled, This provides IBM with more detailed information about any problem which might occur on your server.
This could cause an issue for any application which attempts to read the console log and is unable to handle the extra data.
To disable
set config debug_THREADID=0
This will remove the thread information to the left of each console entry.
If you wish to re-enable
set config debug_threadid=1

Guidelines and restrictions for creating group names in Domino Directory

"Use of the "#" (pound sign / hash) character in Group names is not recommended by IBM. A customer may not have any problem in Domino, but issues could emerge as the customer implements other collaborations."

IBM Lotus Notes Traveler Support for (upcoming) Apple iOS 5

"When Apple formally releases iOS version 5, IBM Lotus Notes Traveler will support the same mail, calendar and contact features in iOS 5 that Traveler supports today in iOS 4. New capabilities in iOS 5 (e.g. folder management enhancements and reminders) may not be supported by Lotus Notes Traveler when iOS 5 ships, but will be considered for utilization/support in a future release of Traveler. "

Snipping Tool - Nice "snipping" tool in Windows 7

Use Snipping Tool to capture screen shots

You can use Snipping Tool to capture a screen shot, or snip, of any object on your screen, and then annotate, save, or share the image.

You can capture any of the following types of snips:

Free-form Snip. Draw a free-form shape around an object.
Rectangular Snip. Drag the cursor around an object to form a rectangle.
Window Snip. Select a window, such as a browser window or dialog box, that you want to capture.
Full-screen Snip. Capture the entire screen.

After you capture a snip, it's automatically copied to the Clipboard and the mark-up window. From the mark-up window, you can annotate, save, or share the snip. The following procedures explain how to use Snipping Tool.

How to use?
Just click on Start and then type Snipping tool... enjoy :)

Lotus iNotes ActiveX installer er inkludert i Domino 8.5.2

De fleste tillater ikke at brukerene har lokal administrator tilgang. Dermed må noen komponenter preinstalleres.
Installasjon av iNotes ActiveX komponenten kan skje via egen installer som ligger i ..\Data\domino\html\ på Domino 8.5.2 serverene.
